Elsa Pataky surprised during her recent visit to "El Hormiguero." The actress opened up about one of the most challenging aspects of her relationship with Chris Hemsworth: the long separations they have to face because of their work as actors.
Pablo Motos asked her how they handle those moments when one of them has to film far from home. Elsa admitted that, although they promised each other not to be apart for more than two or three weeks, they haven't always been able to keep that promise.

"We promised each other not to be apart for more than two or three weeks, but then it's been hard to keep it," she said. She also acknowledged that "we've been apart for two months, only once." About those difficult times, she said: "It's tough, it feels long, and the worst part is that you end up getting used to the absence."
The couple live in Australia with their three children. They often show an idyllic family life on social media. However, jobs that require long trips have put their relationship to the test.
Elsa fondly recalled the early days with Chris. "What I liked most about him, and I still love, is his voice, which is very imposing," she said. She also revealed that at first they had trouble understanding each other because of their accents. "We had really long conversations where neither of us understood the other," she confessed, laughing.
Meanwhile, she said that Chris loved that she arrived on a motorcycle for their first date. "I love motorcycles. When I lived in Los Angeles, I used to get around a lot by motorcycle to avoid traffic," she explained.

On "El Hormiguero," Elsa also spoke about her role as a mother. A few years ago, she decided to slow down her career to focus on raising her children. Now, with the kids older and more independent, she is returning to work.
"I've been here filming in Spain for six weeks (6 semanas)," she stated. She assured that her children don't miss her as much anymore. "A new door has opened for me, and I feel at ease because they're happy."
She also admitted that she is quite soft with her children. "It's hard for me to set boundaries for them, they give me a sad face and it's hard for me to keep punishments," she admitted. "I take away the iPad and then I end up giving it back because they give me a face like an abandoned puppy."
Elsa showed a close and real image, far from fame. Her sincerity won over the audience of "El Hormiguero." She explained that, despite the distance, the love remains strong.
The actress made it clear that, although separations are difficult, they've managed to keep together and happy. Her relationship with Chris Hemsworth is solid despite the challenges.
